Fraudulent Documents and Misrepresentation

mindDog takes the integrity of the assistance dog sector seriously and has a zero-tolerance approach to fraud, forgery and misrepresentation.

Any person who creates, alters, reproduces, distributes or uses a fraudulent mindDog document may be committing a criminal offence. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Fraudulent or altered mindDog ID cards;
  • Fraudulent Public Access Test (PAT) certificates;
  • Fraudulent letters of eligibility, certification or approval;
  • Forged signatures of mindDog staff, assessors or representatives;
  • The unauthorised use of mindDog logos, branding or intellectual property;
  • False claims that a dog is approved, certified or affiliated with mindDog.

mindDog maintains a sophisticated custom-built database that allows us to instantly verify the status of every client, dog, assessment, Public Access Test, identification card and official document issued by our organisation.

Airlines, transport providers, accommodation providers, employers, educational institutions, government agencies and other organisations are encouraged to contact mindDog directly if they wish to verify the authenticity of any document or the status of a mindDog team.

Where fraudulent documents or false representations are identified, mindDog will immediately notify the relevant organisation or service provider and may take further action as appropriate.

mindDog reserves the right to report suspected fraud, forgery, identity-related offences, document tampering and other unlawful conduct to law enforcement agencies, government authorities, regulatory bodies and any other relevant organisations. We will not hesitate to do so where we believe the integrity of the assistance dog sector, public safety or the reputation of our organisation has been compromised.

The creation or use of fraudulent assistance dog documentation undermines legitimate assistance dog handlers and may result in significant legal consequences for those involved.
