mindDog’s Position on Animal Welfare and Program Eligibility

At mindDog, the ethical treatment and welfare of animals are core to everything we do.

As part of our commitment to upholding the highest standards of animal care, individuals with past convictions or substantiated findings relating to animal cruelty, neglect, or abuse will not be eligible to participate in the mindDog program.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Criminal convictions for animal cruelty under any Australian state or territory law
  • Formal findings of animal welfare breaches by relevant authorities (e.g. RSPCA, council rangers, or animal welfare regulators)
  • Ongoing involvement in practices contrary to animal welfare standards (e.g. unethical breeding, hoarding, neglect)

We reserve the right to:

  • Refuse entry to the program based on a history of animal welfare concerns
  • Withdraw participants from the program if credible information is brought to light that indicates involvement in unethical treatment of animals, whether past or ongoing

All applicants to mindDog must acknowledge and agree to these terms during the intake process.

This policy reflects our unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of all animals, particularly those who serve a vital role in supporting the mental health of our clients.
